All these people saying the depressed people are housed with schizophrenics are lying. First of all there is a separate unit for depression/alcohol rehab. And the whole “the doctor stays for 5 minutes in the morning” is bs. They will stay as long as you talk about your concerns and try to fix the problem or come to a solution. A lot of these people reviewing have no idea about any of this. This place is wonderful and saved my life and many others around me. I met friends. The staff was incredible. (Especially Eunice). The food was good and we were taken outside frequently. (At least once a day if you had a red band which is given to you by the doctor. This band gives you a bit more freedom and is for you and your mental health. If they don’t give you a band it is for a reason). In the common room there is games and puzzles as well as coloring sheets. There is a lot to keep you occupied
My experience here was not negative nor positive. Some of the staff members were nice, some were rude. The kids with me talked about having intercourse IN THE ROOMS. The food was adequate. Most of the staff yelled at us at full volume. My two major complaints are concerning the behavior of a particular staff member and the lack of sunlight. Firstly, the sunlight, or lack thereof. Not once during my whole week did I go outside during the day, which I found odd considering vitamin D is essential to both your mental and physical health. Second, a certain staff member was particularly rude. I was upset and crying in a corner, and she looked straight at me and walked away. I was appalled at her response. Finally, I was upset at the placement of the patients. I firmly believe that suicidal people should not be placed in the same unit as schizophrenics. It was disturbing and honestly unsafe.
I detoxed alchoal at Sierra Vista last month and generally speaking I never had a bad time there. I had an issue with 1of the supervisor nurses however it was resolved in a positive manner. The only knock I have, it is it's easier to get in than to get out. Although it was hard to discharge outta the place, there was an R.N. who went out of her way to assist me in discharging and meeting my timeline so I could attend to my needs as a detoxed clean and sober man. Thanks to those who helped me. Sincerely Daniel McGinnis
I was worried for my sister after reading the reviews. But I have found the staff to be kind, considerate, and caring. I have been kept informed and feel that my experience with my sister was taken seriously. They offered help and suggestions. I am hopeful for a positive outcome. My sister was not crazy about the food.

Staff was excellent. Knowledgeable. Psychiatrist tried a new treatment with our daughter that worked well.
Never been here as a patient, only dropping them off, but the staff seems to truly care about the people here and they're always nice to the medics coming in.
Been there twice. Once on H unit and once on G unit. I found this place very helpful for me. They helped with controlling my anxiety and depression. I'm getting better now thanks to this place.
